Japheth joined a band back in late December 2008. The band is mainly country but he's starting to sing some originals, blues, Chris Issac type stuff and more modern songs! Our family and friends go to watch and support him everytime he plays out. We would love to plan a time where the Phillips' Family, Kari, Sam's and that gang can come to watch him play...let's plan it!!! They just went into the studio last weekend to record an original song that Japheth wrote called, 'family man'. Addison is getting so big...she's already 19 months old and will soon be a big sister. We have scheduled a repeat c-section on June 2nd, but I think the baby will come earlier...just a 'mama's' intution!!! Addison was 2 weeks early and my Dr. says I am measuring 2 weeks ahead when they measure....so we will see. Some of you might not know but we have moved...this is a picture of Addison in the living room of our new house holding Mommy's purse. We love our new house and are trying to get everything in place before the new baby arrives in 5 weeks. We chose to not find out the sex of the new baby...we think this will be something special to know right @ delivery....and I think I get a thrill knowing it irritates most of my family members! ha.

I haven't posted for a few months...a lot has happened since September. Addison is not only walking but she's running - she started walking shortly after the last post in September. She has so much personality and is talking tons. She will repeat anything you ask her to and it's so clear. She has 7 teeth now but still not eating very much - she's quite picky and chokes a lot. Jase loves to share everything with her so we have to keep a good eye on her when it comes to food. She loves to go outside and it happens to be one of her favorite words...always saying 'outside'. It's so cute. She does not want to be held when we are out shopping and Mommy kinda freaks out because she's so fast. Before I had kids, I was that girl who made fun of mothers who had their children on these little leach type backpacks...but having my own little girl now, I understand where these mothers were coming from. Japheth still will not let me use it when he is with me - he's one of 'those dads' apparently!!! But it's not worth losing a baby over it , so i'll use it- and with this video - the $10 purchase at the local flee market was well worth it - enjoy!!

This trip was very fast but well worth it. Japheth is one of 7 children and there are 14 grandkids...Addison being the 14th! There was a professional photographer there so those pictures will be posted as soon as I get them. We had little sleep and a lot of drinkin'....Duh, we were at the Simpson household. I thank everyone for their hospitality and the opportunity to have every kid there along with every grandkid. Who knows when and if that will ever happen again. We hope to travel there again soon...most likely hunting season...

Addison's First Birthday

I absolutely love the first picture. This was taken on her actual birthday on Thursday Sept. 4th. Grammy made her a cupcake and she just was loving it. Then we went to Walmart when Daddy got home from school (really late). She looked like a little boy after spending most of the evening with her cousin Kayce and auntie Kristie. But she's so cute!!!! I loved her birthday cake. It was exactly what I wanted - simple and clean. We had a lot of people come from out of town for her party and we are very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. Thanks!

Addison's First Concert

The whole family went to the Sara Evans concert in Murphy's California on September 5th. It was really fun and the kids were great. We took Marcus and Kimmy too. They had a great time -Willy Nelson was in concert with her as well but we didn't stay for the entire concert of his - I think the kids were getting 'contact high'. Seriously!!!! We didn't get to spend much time with Auntie Ashley but we're headed to Oregon today for 'grandpa's' retirement party and we'll be able to spend more time letting the cousins play. Addison was very tired in this picture with her Auntie Ashley - who is Sara's sister - ...but I think she still is very pretty in her pink!

Just a few pictures from my cousin Jessica's wedding - not to mention one of my very best friends. This wedding was from July 7th, 2007 and I just viewed these pictures for the first time today. I guess I was a little busy having my little bundle of joy around the time of the first publish of these photos. I like the one of my sister pickin' at her toe jam...or fixing her shoe. Take your pick! Nonetheless, I like these pictures. Jessica was so beautiful on her wedding day, but I think she's beautiful everyday. I was seven months prego with Addison and the very next day Japheth and I got married, then flew to Mexico with my parents and my sister, Doug and baby Jase. Awww...

Anniversary

July 9th, 2008 we celebrated our wedding anniversary. My parents celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary and Doug and Sonya celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary. Wow...who can say they celebrate the same anniversary with their parents and their only sibling? I am blessed and grateful to say that I do. We went to dinner at Cool Hand Lukes. It was so amazing. Everyone's dish was just perfect. We couldn't finish our plates and we refused free dessert - well...I take that back. Dad ordered a sunday and it was so good - we all shared it. Yum Yum. So happy to call Japheth my husband and have a wonderful marriage and family. I hope for many more wonderful years to come.

Nashville Star Audition in Burbank California

The season of Nashville Star started last night. We were so excited to watch all the amazing singers. There were about 6,000 who auditioned in Burbank where Japheth did and only a few hundred made the cut. The "Nashville Star" 'ticket' that Japheth is holding is his ticket for day two of tryouts. He made the second cut and we were very proud of him. While we were there, we saw amazing talent and were very shocked last night to see, not so much talent! We could not believe who they had picked. The black guy who is on the show was actually at Japheth's audition and we think he deserves to be there. From the moment we heard him at the audition, we knew he'd be there. Japheth also knows the three sisters - he used to sing with them in a bar in Nashville. Other than that, we were pretty much disappointed. Japheth said he will try again next year if it doesn't conflict with fishing or hunting!
Addison was so good the whole weekend. The camera followed us around a lot and we are glad that none of it was aired.

This is my best friend Kimmy, also known as "stink!" Maybe the name will be defined in a later blog. We had so much fun. Always there when I needed her - about 88 trips to the bathroom to fix my dress which was a nightmare of alterations~ Well worth it though!

I have no clue who this other guy in the picture is with us. Actually, it's Marcus (Kim NOT better half) She would be the best half! The four of us bonded in the photo booth. I think this photo session was the moment we were told - after the fact - that they would all be published on a website! Oh Lord. I am sure there will many other guest that will be much more ashamed.

Here is my beautiful friend Kelly Gloria and best friend Kimmy and myself. Half way through the night I tied my pink bow around my neck which helped all the 88 trips to the bathroom solved! I am sure Kim was glad about this. And it doesn't look half bad. Love you girls!!

I think this picture explains itself. I love this man with all my heart. He was part of Kelly and Dominic's special day as well. He sang two songs @ the ceremony and then wrote and sang their first wedding dance song titled "forever." I don't think there was one guest that didn't have a tear in his or her eyes! It truly was special.

One of my best friends, Kelly Ricci (Gloria) married her best friend Dominic. I was a bridesmaid and was so honored to be part of their special day. I have heard the saying so many times, "there is never a perfect wedding day!" Before this day, I probably would have agreed; however, everything was absolutly perfect! From the weather, to timing to my husband singing, it just just an amazing event! They had a photo booth there which was so fun (as you can see from these photos). After I we took them Kelly announced that they would ALL be available for EVERYONE to see on a website! Oh well, it was fun!

...to start a blog about our 8 month old little girl and the "Simpson Family." Our little girl Addison Cooper Simpson was born September 4th, 2007 and has made many milestones so far in her life. We think she is advanced for her age, but what parent doesn't think this highly of their own children? She already has two teeth on the bottom, is standing up on everything (including stood up the very first time we put her in her crib), is walking around the coffee table, and along side the couch. She is very fluent in "baby talk" and says, 'mama' and 'da-da' very clear! Grammy taught her how to cough on command and it's the funniest thing ever. We say, "oh poor baby, you have a bad cough," and she cough's again. Her best friend is Jase Timothy but he would disagree. Addison beats on him and already walks all over him - literally! He's so sweet though because when it's time to say goodbye he willingly gives her a kiss. Awwww! We hope you enjoy Addison Cooper's growth as much as we do. ENJOY! Japheth and Brandi
